1 Killed In Chain Reaction Crash On Rt. 24
The multi-vehicle crash shut down all southbound lanes on Route 24 early Tuesday morning.

FALL RIVER, MA – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in Fall River Tuesday morning, state police said. The crash was reported shortly after 6 a.m. and shut down all southbound lanes on Route 24/Route 78 for about an hour.
According to police, a 2000 Acura 35R had struck the left guardrail and was disabled perpendicular to oncoming traffic. An SUV struck the disabled vehicle from the side and was hit from behind by a van, which rolled over.
A man traveling in the SUV was struck by his car after it was hit by the van. The victim, 65-year-old Yau Wong Li, of West Roxbury, was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the incident all lanes were closed on Route 24 South and traffic was diverted off of Exit 8A. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
