Seekonk Man Dies in Fiery Crash

SEEKONK, MA — A Seekonk man was killed in a fiery crash on Newman Avenue Friday night, police said. Steven Burek, 64, died after crashing his Nissan pickup into a tree near Rye Street.

A Seekok police officer on patrol came across the crash at about 10 p.m. and pulled Burek from the wreckage, according to Seekonk Police Chief Craig Mace. The vehicle then burst into flames.

Burek was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

"The Seekonk Police Department extends ints condolences to Mr. Burek's family," Mace said.
