Seekonk Motel 6 Drug Bust: Heroin, Fentanyl, Guns Seized
Seekonk police said Rafael Velasquez, of Providence, was arrested during a bust at Motel 6 May 16, 2017.
SEEKONK, MA — Seekonk police Tuesday said they arrested a Providence drug dealer at the town's Motel 6 and found him with a large quantity of heroin, fentanyl and cocaine. Rafael Velasquez, 48, was charged with a host of crimes. He was arrested as officers executed a search warrant at the motel on Fall River Avenue Tuesday morning, according to Seekonk police Chief Craig Mace.

"The search resulted in the discovery of a significant amount of packaged heroin, fentanyl and cocaine," Mace said in a statement. "Also found were two loaded guns." Officers said they also found ecstasy, suboxone and adderall in Velasquez's motel room.

Velasquez was charged with trafficking heroin and fentanyl, trafficking crack cocaine, three counts of drug possession, two counts of possessing a gun without a license and possession of ammunition without a license. The suspect was transported to Taunton District Court for an arraignment later Tuesday.
