Seekonk Prostitution Sting Nets 11 Arrests

SEEKONK, MA — A Seekonk prostitution sting Wednesday netted 11 arrests.

Police said the sting involved undercover agents posting social media advertisements offering sex for a fee.

Eleven men were arrested after showing up an undisclosed Seekonk location, thinking they were going to pay for sex, police said.

The following men were charged with engaging in sexual conduct for a fee:

• Jack Walters, 56, of Harrisville, R.I.
• Hector Alvarez-Lugo, 34, of North Port, Fla.
• Christopher Wyman, 48, of Taunton
• Artur Amaral, 49, of East Providence, R.I.
• Ernesto Amaral, 49, of East Providence, R.I.
• Gustavo Rodrigues, 29, of Newark, N.J.
• Steven Pimentel, 38, of Mansfield
• Walter Lopes, 54, of Bristol, R.I.
• Thomas Fawthrop, 53, of Johnston, R.I.

Additionally Jawara Mahadeo, 32, of Providence, R.I., was charged with marijuana possession.

All the suspects were booked and released on bail pending an arraignment Thursday.

Police said booking photos will not be released.
