Seekonk School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Early Release Days

SEEKONK, MA – Record scratch, school can't be right around the corner, can it? It's still a ways away, but these things have a knack for sneaking up on you during the dog days of summer. The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Aug. 30.

The 2017-18 school calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here's a list of dates to know for the fall semester:

August

• 28 Full-Day In-Service for Professional Development
• 29 Meeting Day (8 AM-10AM)
• 30 First Day Students (Gr. 1-12)

September

• 04 Labor Day=No School
• 05 First Day Pre-K & Kinder.
• 06 Aitken Open House
• 12 Hurley Open House
• 13 Martin Open House
• 14 High School Open House

October

• 06 Early Release for Professional Development
• 09 Columbus Day=No School
• 25-26 Elementary Parent/Teacher Conferences=Early Release for Elementary Schools

November

• 02 1st Term ends (45 days)
• 10 Veterans Day Observance=No School
• 16 High School Parent/Teacher Conferences
• 22 Early Release-Holiday
• 23-24 Thanksgiving Break
• 28 1st Trimester ends (60 days)

December

• 26-30 Holiday Break
