Seekonk Cheerleader Killed in Crash
Hayley Sanford, 19, of Seekonk, died after a crash in Raynham on Route 495. She was a cheerleader at Bridgewater State University.

RAYNHAM, MA — A Seekonk teenager was killed in a crash in Raynham Wednesday night. Hayley M. Sanford, 19, was pronounced dead a few hours after the crash, which happened on Route 495 at about 6:55 p.m.
Sanford attended Bridgewater State University and was a cheerleader there.
Sanford was driving a Jeep Wrangler in the right lane of the highway then merged into the middle lane and collided with a Honda CRV driven by a 76-year-old New Bedford woman, police said. Both vehicle slid onto the median; Sanford's Jeep rolled over and she was ejected, according to police. The elderly woman's vehicle crossed the entire northbound side of the highway before coming to rest on the far shoulder, police said.

The force of the collision caused the Honda to cross through the median, enter the northbound side of Route 495, cross all northbound lanes, and end up on the far shoulder of the northbound side. The operator of the Honda, a 76-year-old New Bedford woman, was transported to Morton Hospital in Taunton with minor injuries.

Sanford was transported to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, where she was pronounced dead.
