The 10A all-stars of the Swansea Independent Baseball League rallied from a slow start Saturday afternoon to defeat the Dom Aitro Baseball League of New Haven, Conn., 17-7, in the winners' bracket final of the 2013 Mustang League North Region Tournament of PONY Baseball held at the Nike Site Playing Complex in Swansea.
Colby Campos slammed four hits and Brandon Medeiros collected two hits as Swansea bounced back from a 3-1 deficit after one inning to post its second tournament victory in as many stars. The SIBL club broke open a tight contest with an eight-run explosion in the fourth frame.
Josh Ferreira, Devyn Vezina and Brandon Medeiros all pitched for the winners. Luis Dias recorded two hits for Dom Aitro.
In other tournament action Saturday, the Tri-City Bombers of Troy, N.Y., also advanced to the title round after eliminating the Belmont Elite of Belmont, N.Y. (13-3) and Dom Aitro (15-12) in losers' bracket contests.
Swansea will face Tri-City in the title round Sunday at 9 a.m. If a second game is necessary, it will begin at approximately 11:30 a.m.
The Region Tournament champion will move on the East Zone Tournament to be staged July 25 through 27 in Chesterfield, Virg.
