Space Saturday at Battleship Cove

Blast off into space right from the deck of Battleship Cove’s destroyer, the USS Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. in celebration of 50 years since the ship was involved in the Gemini space capsule recovery program on Saturday, January 17, from 9:00am -4:30pm.

Programming and Funshops with great activities for the whole family will be offered all day!

Gemini 6 and 7 were manned spaceflights in NASA‘s Gemini program in 1965.

The crews spent nearly 14 days in space, making a total of 206 orbits. The Gemini 7 was the passive target for the first manned space rendezvous performed by the crew of Gemini 6A.

Funshops will include making a space helmet, eating real astronaut food, coloring a Gemini mission patch and more as visitors learn about the 1960s space missions that changed the world.

Funshops are $5.00 per person for non-members and free for members. Registration is required. All other activities are included with general admission. Please call 508-678-1100 ext. 101/102.
