Students Ingested Plant Seeds to Get High, Seekonk Police Say

SEEKONK, MA — Seekonk police issued a warning after they said local students ingested plants seeds to get high.

The students—from Somerset—were hospitalized but otherwise OK, according to police.

The seeds in question are sold under the names Sleepy Grass, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, and Blue Morning Glory, police said. The seeds contain d-lysergic acid amide, which can produce a high similar to LSD.

A small group of Seekonk students were also found to be in possession of the seeds, Superintendent Arlene Bosco said.

"Care was taken to make sure the students were OK," Bosco said in a statement. "There were no serious outcomes."

The Somerset Home Depot pulled the products after they were alerted to the incidents, according to Seekonk police.
