Swansea Firefirghters Knock Down Attic Blaze On Bark Street
Swansea firefighters spent several hours on Tuesday afternoon battling the fire with mutual aid from Rehoboth, Warren, R.I.
SWANSEA, MA — Swansea fire said 33 town firefighters and all four stations responded to an attic fire on Bark Street on Tuesday afternoon. Swansea firefighters spent several hours on the scene extinguishing the blaze and eliminating hot spots from the fire that destroyed the roof and left a family homeless.
Red Cross was called in to help the family affected. No injuries were reported.
Swansea fire said firefighters arrived at the scene and found heavy smoke coming fro the eaves. They made their way through the second floor to the attic where they were able to knock down the blaze. They said only unsupported shingles remain of the plywood roof.
