Swansea Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

Jamie Tavares, of Swansea, was killed after a collision with another vehicle on Maple Avenue, authorities said.

SWANSEA, MA — A 44-year-old Swansea man was killed Sunday after his motorcycle collided with a car, authorities said. The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on Maple Avenue.

Police said Jamie Tavares driving his motorcycle south when he collided with a Volkswagen Jetta traveling in the opposite direction. The Jetta driver, identified as a 52-year-old Swansea woman, was not hurt, authorities said.

No foul play is suspected, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's office.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
