SWAT teams spent several hours searching for shooting suspect Mike Montana, 54, before he surrendered outside his home north of San Diego just before 10 p.m. Montana’s neighbors reportedly recognized the white minivan with “Superior Painting” printed on the side that police said the suspect drove away from Kraska’s home after the shooting, USA Today reports.

Montana allegedly shot through the rear window of Kraska’s Mercedes as the reporter backed his car out of his driveway. He then continued shooting after Kraska had pulled into the street in front of his home. Neighbors reported hearing six to eight gunshots and saw Kraska laying face-down in the street following the shooting, according to CBS News 8.
