Swansea Police Officer Injured In Crash Responding To Other Crash
While trying to reach a head-on collision on Market Street, Swansea Police Officer Eric Thibault collided with a car that was turning left.

SWANSEA, MA — A Swansea police officer was hospitalized following a car crash he got in Sunday while trying to respond to another crash.
While trying to reach a head-on collision on Market Street, Swansea Police Officer Eric Thibault collided with a Nissan that was trying to turn left. Police said Thibault struck the other car in the left front fender, which sent it into a small stone wall.
Thibault suffered minor injuries and was taken to South Coast Hospital in Fall River. The driver of the other car was not hurt.

The crash Thibault was trying to get to left a Warren man, his passenger and a Providence man hospitalized.
An ambulance from the Bristol Fire Department got stuck in traffic from the crash on its way to help one of the drivers who was suffering from life-threatening injuries, police said. Swansea Police identified the driver as Gabriel Perez, of Providence.

Perez was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
An Ambulance from Swansea then arrived to help the other driver, William Fernandes, of Warren and a woman who was in the car with him. Both were brought to South Coast Hospital for treatment.
