WESTPORT, MA — The 30-year-old Fall River woman struck last week in a hit-and-run in Westport died from her injuries at Rhode Island Hospital, authorities said Thursday. Officers are still looking for the driver of the vehicle that struck Stephanie Tripp on Old Bedford Road May 7, according to the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.

The vehicle is believed to be a gray BMW 3 Series, likely from between 1999-2005. There should be minor damage to the hood, front end and/or front passenger side.

It is believed Tripp was walking along the side of the road when she was struck, authorities said. A witness said the driver, a man, got out of the car and apologized for hitting her. He then left driving east and another witness who tried following him lost him in Dartmouth, authorities said.
