The Seekonk Fall Town Meeting is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. at Seekonk High School. The warrant is now open and will close Tuesday, Oct. 1. at the end of the business day.
Congressman Joe Kennedy III announced that he will begin his fall schedule for ‘Tour 34’ by holding constituent office hours in Swansea and Somerset Saturday, Sept. 7. The Congressman has brought ‘Tour 34’ to communities across the 4th District this year as part of his ongoing commitment to hold constituent office hours in all 34 cities and towns by the end of 2013.

The Seekonk selectmen will be meeting Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. On the agenda is the swearing in of new firefighters, discussion with the DPW superintendent on a trash fees and the approval of trash fees and a discussion of the snow policy for 2013-14.
The Seekonk Public Library, in cooperation with P.A.C.E. Child Care Works in New Bedford, offers a Parent-Child Play Group on Fridays from 10 a.m, until noon in the library’s meeting room. The play group is for children 18 months to three-years-old and is scheduled every Friday morning. It will be facilitated by the Associates for Human Services Early Intervention Program and offered through the Dighton, Rehoboth, Seekonk and Swansea Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant. Any child from these communities and who is within the age range of 18 months to 3 years, is eligible to attend. A variety of toys and materials, as well as group activities including music and snack time, will be offered to participants. Children attend play group with a parent or adult caregiver.
