Join
us for a fun filled program about turkeys. Did you know that the last
known wild turkey in Massachusetts met its demise on Mount Tom in 1851?
Through a reintroduction program led by the Division of Fisheries and
Wildlife (now known as Mass Wildlife), and, in cooperation with the
University of Massachusetts, 37 wild turkeys were released in 1972-1973.
This year the estimated fall population stands at 18,000-20,000
statewide. We will learn how to identify males from female wild turkeys,
how to tell their age, and other interesting facts. Look at and touch
turkey artifacts, make a turkey craft, and take a hike on the trail.

Registration is required.

Call to register 508-223-3060.
