Join Master Magician Brian Baskin as he dazzles with his amazing feats of magic and escape as part One Book One Town 2012 programming for this year's selection, "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" at 2 p.m. Saturday at Heights Elementary School.
Baskin is a virtuoso in three classical areas of magic: slight of hand, escapology and mentalism. Watch him up close as he makes objects vanish into thin air and materialize from across the room. Watch him break the bonds of chains and padlocks, and beware as he might just read your mind.
Children are especially welcome to be part of this event. This performance provides special seating for kids who will be encouraged to sit up front with the Master himself and assist him as he makes objects appear in people's hands, reads minds, and lets someone secure him in a straight jacket.

The theme of escape is central to Michael Chabon's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, escape from Nazi Germany, from the confines of the family, from the past, and from oneself. Come celebrate the shared experience of reading with fellow Sharonites, and experience the wonder of Baskin’s unique tricks.
The magic show is presented free of charge and open to the public by the generosity of the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, which is One Book's primary sponsor.
