One Book Shows Film Classic
One Book programming starts Sunday, Feb. 26 with a film classic.
"One Book, One Town: Sharon Reads Together" kicks off its 2012 programming for Michael Chabon's "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay" on Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. at the Sharon Public Library.
Join Josh Stenger, associate professor of film studies and English at Wheaton College, to screen the 1933 classic film and discuss its meaning for the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.
The One Book Committee can't announce the title of the film in advance, but hints like "big hairy ape" and "Fay Wray" should clue readers in.

The novel and the film share commanding and compelling themes, including New York Society, the Empire State Building, superheroes, daring escapes and the enduring bonds of love.
There will be refreshments and a bracing discussion as the group tracks the escapades of Sam Clay and Joe Kavalier in Post-War America.
