Sharon High School's Ultimate Disc Team Starts Strong

Sharon High School's Ultimate Disc team starts strong with four spring games.

    Sharon High School’s Ultimate Disc team, The Bad Clams, is off to a solid start this season with three wins and one loss for the A-Team in April.

    Under the leadership of coach Dave Christiansen and assistant coach Mike Dussault, the squad started the season with a home victory against Milton Academy, winning 15-7. Senior Eric Vlach scored three goals and had two Ds. Junior Max Resnick made three assists.

     The second game of the season saw Senior Dylan Best leading the way to a with 8 assists and Junior Adam Meserve scoring 4 goals for a 15-7 victory against Easton.

     The Clams won their third straight game against Choate Rosemary Hall of Wallingford, CT with a score of 15-1. Sophomore Kris Blau scored his first 2 A-team goals during the game and Senior Sam Hanlon had three assists.

     The team’s first away game, in Abington, was a tough one. Facing a team with 14 returning seniors, The Clams’ offensive flow looked great in the second half of the game, but players struggled against Abington’s zone defense. Despite Alec Shostek’s great game with 4 assists, Sharon lost 15-6.

      Sharon Ultimate will participate in several state tournaments this year, including the Amherst Regional High School Ultimate Invitational on May 4 and 5; the High School Northeastern Championships on May 11 and 12 in Devens, MA; and the Division I State Tournament on May 25 and 26 in Greenfield, MA.

     A-team captains are Noah Landy, Uri Starr and Dylan Best.
