The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival Comes to Sharon

The Environmental Film Festival comes to Sharon on Saturday.

The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival comes to Sharon at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Unitarian Church of Sharon.

The Sustainable Sharon Coalition and Sharon Friends of Conservation are offering films from this year's Wild & Scenic Film Festival. The original festival is the largest venue for environmental films in North America.

Guests will see shorts and action films from around the world, as well as a film tribute to Wangari Maathai, Nobel Prize winner from Kenya, whose Green Belt Movement works at the grassroots, national, and international levels to promote environmental conservation; to build climate resilience and empower communities, especially women and girls; and to foster democratic space and sustainable livelihoods. The Green Belt Movement has planted over 47 million trees in Kenya.
