The Sharon Community Chamber Orchestra, Michael Korn, Music Director, presents Think Spring!
Please note!! The venue for this concert has changed since it was first announced. The concert will not be at Sharon Middle School. It will be at Covenant Congregational Church in North Easton. The church is accessible, has designated parking spaces for individuals with disabilities, and ample parking for everyone.
With hopes this long, cold winter is almost over, and to at least feel like spring at the concert, the orchestra will be performing the Overture to Der Schulkandidat (The School Candidate), a comic opera by Maria Theresia von Paradis, Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 in F Major, the Pastoral.
Our soloist for the Mendelssohn is the talented young musician, Lillian Arnold Mages. Lillian, a 17-year-old high school student, has already amassed a long list of highly prized competition awards, has participated in international Master Classes, and has performed as soloist with a number of area orchestras. She is in her third year as concertmaster of the NEC Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. Much more about this exceptional violinist, fiddler, singer and environmentalist in the program and on our website. A link to the website is included above via the "more info here" button.
This concert was made possible in part by a grant from the Sharon Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Tickets (general admission $20, seniors and under 18 $15) are available at the door and online at givebutter.com/sccomarch2026
