Sharon Public Library Hosting The Alchemist Book Discussion

The Sharon Public Library is offering a two-day seminar for students reading Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist as a summer reading requirement. This pilot seminar is designed to foster student independence and encourage access to local learning resources, namely the public library. Each evening session will consist of a 90-minute review of the book, which will include group readings, facilitated discussions, as well as completion of a graphic organizer and guided reading questions. Stop by the library to pick up a pre-reading packet that will be used during the discussion. This packet will be available at both the adult and children's circulation desks. Students may register for both or either the Aug. 4 and Aug. 11 discussions. Registration is required at www.sharonpubliclibrary.org or by calling 781-784-1578 ext. 32. For more information, contact Danielle Margarida at dmargarida@ocln.org.
