Jan. 11 Sharon ZBA Decision On AT&T Tower Possible
Selectmen interview two members for reappointment Tuesday night.

The Sharon Zoning Board of Appeals could vote on AT&T's proposed wireless communications tower on Jan. 11, Vice Chairman Kevin McCarville told selectmen Tuesday night.

Selectmen interviewed McCarville and member Lee Wernick Tuesday night as candidates for reappointment. McCarville is chairing the zoning meetings while serving with the Massachusetts Army National Guard.

McCarville said that while "nothing is 100 percent," it "wouldn't surprise me if a decision is made at the Jan. 11" meeting.
AT&T seeks ZBA approval for a 120-feet-tall monopole at two sites on town-owned land at 411 East Foxboro St.

AT&T also has applied for approval at 68 Mohawk St., its preferred site.
McCarville said that "we believe we've given the abutters the appropriate amount of time to voice their concerns and have questions."
Also, Town Engineer Peter O'Cain asked about 24 questions "that we would not have thought of," McCarville said.
Selectman William Heitin said his board met with the abutters a few weeks ago.
Selectmen will work with the planning board on the issue of cell towers, he said.
