New York Times Best Selling Author Dr. Michael Thompson Comes to Sharon on February 25th
International speaker and child development expert to address America's performance-driven obsession with children's accomplishments

On Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Sharon Education Foundation, Sharon Public Schools Tech Department, and Everwood Day Camp will host Michael Thompson, Ph.D., New York Times Best Selling Author and International Speaker, on child development. Dr. Thompson will address America’s performance-driven obsession with the accomplishments of its kids as presented in his recent book, The Pressured Child.
This presentation comes on the heels of a recently released report in January 2016 from Harvard University called, Turning the Tide: Inspiring Concern For Others And The Common Good Through College Admissions. As per the Harvard website, this report ”marks the first time in history that a broad coalition of college admissions offices have joined forces to collectively encourage high school students to focus on meaningful ethical and intellectual engagement.”
Dr. Thompson and Bob Pomer, Guidance Director, Sharon High School, will be speaking to this groundbreaking report and its impacts on our college-readiness program in Sharon and the admissions process.
