Sharon Assisted Living Zoning Change Tabled

EPOCH seeks more time to address questions.

A vote on a proposed Sharon zoning change to allow assisted living facilities was indefinitely postponed Monday night.

would "like to have some additional time to address questions" about the proposal, Selectman William Heitin told voters at the fall special town meeting, in the auditorium.

Heitin said the proposal could return to the May 2012 annual or special town meeting.

The warrant article proposed adding assisted living facilities to the uses allowed in the general residence, single residence, suburban, rural and housing authority zoning districts by special permit from the zoning board of appeals, and defining the concept.

EPOCH and National Development have discussed partnering on at 245 and 255 Norwood St. EPOCH's nursing home is at 259 Norwood St.
