Sharon Families Celebrate its Community's Library Centennial

The Andrew Carnegie Library building celebrates 100 years since it first being est. with a fun day for families of the community

After celebrating its exciting Centennial since the building of the Andrew Carnegie portion of the Sharon Public Library a family day celebration was held to commemorate all its years serving as a place of knowledge for both children and adults. With its raffles, activities, and games for kids, the Library Centennial was a fun celebration for all who attended and planned it including Tv show hosts of the popular show, “The Law, Your Money, and You”. Roberta Saphire also a Centennial Committee Chair has her coHost Camille Barron join her in helping man the Museum of old books from 1914. Pictured is Camille Barron and Roberta Saphire with Sharon High freshman, Eli Agus , one of their favorite interns who visited the Library on Family Day with his family. Sunday kicked off a week’s activities celebrating the Carnegie Building Centennial Celebration. There were speakers, games and many many different activities all week. A lot of hard work went into this and planning for over a year but every event was totally successful and enjoyed by all who attended. Also pictured are CoChair Cheryl Weinstein,Best Helper Mary Alice Dowdell, CoChair Carolyn Weeks, and CoChair Roberta Saphire. Winners of a raffle sponsored by The Law, Your Money... and YOU! , a local 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation concentrating now on Financial Literacy for the schools as well as many other important consumer topics. were Philip Conover, a Sharon contractor , and Lisa Graffeo from Winchester.. The raffle was held to raise money for the Sharon Library Building Centennial. Pictured below is Attorney Roberta Saphire, Cohost of the show , winners Lisa Graffeo,and Phlip Conover and Cohost Camille Barron. All are seated at Fresh Catch in Mansfield, a popular seafood restaurant for many years in Mansfield and Easton, who donated a “Lunch with the Stars”.
