Monday at noon, residents gathered at Post Office Square for what is quickly becoming a popular tradition. For the third year in a row, Sharon honored those brave enough to serve this country with their annual Veterans Day celebration.
“We do what we do today because of the sacrifices made by the men and women who put on that uniform since the founding of this country and defended our freedoms,” Deputy Police Chief J. J. McGrath McGrath said in his remarks. “Whether they fought in a war or were on a line in peacetime or war, they knew they were taking a risk that they may not come home.”
With McGrath serving as the master of ceremonies, speakers included Sharon’s Veteran Agent Paul Bergeron and state Senator James Timilty.
