Shrewsbury Gets $118K For Accessibility Improvements At Museum, Senior Center

SHREWSBURY, MA —The Massachusetts Office on Disability awarded Shrewsbury more than $118,000 for accessibility improvements, according to State Rep. Hannah Kane (R).

A total of $40,000 of the funding will be used for improvements at the 1830 Brick Schoolhouse, a museum in Shrewsbury, while the other $78,029.48 will go toward repairs to sidewalks and curb ramps at the Senior Center. The money comes from the Municipal Americans with Disabilities Act Improvement Grant Program.

"Improving accessibility will help more people with disabilities benefit from opportunities available at these locations, from learning about Shrewsbury's history to obtaining services for older residents," said Kane, who serves as the State Representative for the Eleventh Worcester District, representing the towns of Shrewsbury and Westborough.
