SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury officials are warning residents to use caution after learning that two Recreation Department social media accounts were hacked.
The affected accounts are the Shrewsbury Recreation Facebook page and the shrewsburyrecreation Instagram account, according to the town. Officials said they are working to resolve the issue.
Residents should be cautious with any posts, messages, links or requests coming from those accounts until further notice, officials said.
For accurate updates, residents should visit the town website at ShrewsburyMA.gov. The town said it will provide an update once the issue has been resolved.
