SHREWSBURY, MA — A Shrewsbury ice cream shop has a place on a statewide map for residents looking to turn dessert into a summer road trip.
Hebert Candies, at 574 Hartford Tpke., is listed as a Central Massachusetts stop on the Massachusetts Ice Cream Trail, a state-backed guide launched in 2024 to promote ice cream shops, farm stands, and dairy farms that use Massachusetts dairy products, according to GBH.
The trail features more than 100 destinations across Massachusetts and is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources. The map includes dairy farms with ice cream stands, farms selling packaged ice cream, and shops selling Massachusetts ice cream products, according to the tourism office.
The guide says that the “Hebert Candy Mansion is the place for everything sweet,” as the business offers year-round locally sourced ice cream and handmade chocolates.
The shop’s own ice cream menu includes flavors such as vanilla, coffee, Cookie Monster, maple walnut, strawberry cheesecake, Purple Cow, cotton candy, Campfire S’mores, watermelon sherbet and raspberry sorbet. They also sell frappes, floats and other ice cream items.
