Shrewsbury Police Welcomes New Officer

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury has added an experienced crash reconstruction specialist to its police department this week.

Officer Brian Fleury was officially sworn in Thursday, bringing approximately eight years of law enforcement experience to the department, according to the Shrewsbury Police Department.

Fleury began his career as a 911 dispatcher with the Holden Police Department in 2017. He graduated from the Massachusetts State Police Municipal Police Academy in 2018 and became an officer with the Paxton Police Department.

He transferred to the Rutland Police Department in 2023 and became certified in crash reconstruction that year.

Fleury has also worked with the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council and the Worcester County District Attorney's Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit, assisting with complex crash investigations.

"Brian's experience, training, and commitment to the law enforcement profession will be a great addition to our department and our community," Shrewsbury police wrote in its announcement. "Please join us in congratulating Officer Brian Fleury and welcoming him to the Shrewsbury Police Department family."
