SHREWSBURY, MA — An award-winning singer-songwriter will perform in Shrewsbury this weekend.
Jann Klose, a musician known for his pop and rock music and extensive international touring, will bring songs from his latest concept album to The Mansfield on Sunday.
The show follows the May release of "The Future Trap", an album that blends pop, rock, folk, electronic, orchestral, and progressive influences.
The album follows a central character through love, obsession, heartbreak, renewal and acceptance, according to a news release. Contributors include Everett Bradley, Alphonso Horne, Annie Haslam, Rachel Flowers, DJ Cosher and Marcella Detroit.
Detroit, a member of the pop duo Shakespears Sister, appears on the album's latest single, "Hurting Nobody." She and Klose wrote the song during a series of online sessions.
"When I was a young teen living in Hamburg, Germany, I used to watch Shakespears Sister music videos on MTV and was enthralled by them," Klose said in the release. "I never thought I'd eventually meet one half of the group, Marcella Detroit, and start writing songs with her."
Klose's other recent releases include "When I'm With You," whose official music video was filmed in stop motion in New York City by filmmaker Sam Casey. The video has received close to 300,000 views.
The show will run from 5 to 7 p.m. You can purchase tickets here.
