Shrewsbury Sets Date For Special Town Meeting

Citizen petitions are due next month ahead of the December meeting at Oak Middle School.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury will hold a Special Town Meeting in December, with several deadlines approaching for residents and town officials.

The Select Board set the meeting for 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2026, in the Oak Middle School auditorium at 45 Oak St. Citizens have until Oct. 20 to submit petition articles to the Town Clerk, while the Select Board is scheduled to review and sign the official warrant on Oct. 22.

The town's Finance Committee will hold a public hearing on the warrant articles Thursday, Nov. 19. A time and location for the hearing were not immediately available.

The Select Board voted on the meeting schedule at its meeting last Tuesday.

Shrewsbury uses a representative Town Meeting system. Its legislative body consists of 240 elected members representing 10 precincts. Those members vote on the articles included in the warrant.
