SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury is changing how it tracks fire and life safety inspections at commercial properties.
The town is partnering with Brycer to use The Compliance Engine, an online system that will collect required inspection, testing and maintenance reports from licensed contractors. The change is intended to improve compliance tracking and help the Shrewsbury Fire Department identify overdue inspections or unresolved safety deficiencies, the town said on Thursday.
Commercial property and business owners do not need to take action. Contractors will register with Brycer and upload required reports directly to the portal.
The reports cover systems including fire alarms, automatic sprinklers, commercial kitchen hood suppression systems, fire pumps and standpipes. The platform organizes inspection records by property and tracks due dates and reported deficiencies, according to Brycer.
Property owners may create a free account through The Compliance Engine to view and monitor inspection reports associated with their buildings, though an account is not required.
Contractors and interested property owners can register or find portal information through The Compliance Engine website. For local questions, contact the Shrewsbury Fire Department at 508-841-8522.
