SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury drivers will see a new traffic pattern Thursday at a busy intersection in town.
A three-way stop went into effect on Thursday morning at the intersection of Old Mill Road and Harrington Avenue. Crews installed new signs overnight, according to town officials.
The change is intended to reduce crashes and improve safety at the intersection.
The Select Board approved the three-way stop on July 28. The project adds two stop signs to the intersection. At the time, the board said the project was expected to be completed within 90 days.
LED stop signs and "Stop Ahead" signs were also installed. The new additions were covered by state funding.
The Shrewsbury Department of Public Works also planned to add pavement markings showing drivers where to stop and warning them about the new traffic pattern.
