Crusaders to Face Dartmouth on Homecoming Weekend
The Holy Cross football team will play their home opener on Saturday, September 24, Homecoming Weekend, when it hosts Dartmouth at 1:05 p.m.

The Holy Cross football team will play their home opener on Saturday, September 24, Homecoming Weekend, when it hosts Dartmouth at 1:05 p.m. on Fitton Field in Worcester, Massachusetts. The game between the Crusaders and the Big Green will be shown live on Charter TV3 in Central Massachusetts, and can also be heard on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross enters the matchup after suffering a tough 45-28 loss at the hands of #25 Bryant in Albany, New York over the weekend. After winning their first game of the season, the Crusader have dropped two in a row, but are looking to bounce back in front of their home fans and grab a victory over Dartmouth. Dartmouth is entering the game after a huge 22-21 win over #22 UNH last Saturday.
Senior quarterback Peter Pujals has led the Crusader offense by hitting on 99 of 157 passes for 1,020 yards and nine scores, and currently ranks first in the nation in completions. Junior tailback Diquan Walker has rushed for a team-best 171 yards and two scores on 32 carries, while catching four passes for 28 yards. Sophomore wide out Richie DeNicola has hauled in 29 catches for 301 yards and three touchdowns, while senior wide receiver Jake Wieczorek has posted 28 receptions for 285 yards and one score. DeNicola leads the country in receptions, with Wieczorek ranking second.
After the matchup with Dartmouth, Holy Cross will hit the road for its Patriot League opener. The Crusaders will travel to Lafayette for a 3:30 p.m. game on Saturday, Oct. 1.
