Elite Academy of Dance is Grand National Champions

Shrewsbury’s own Elite Academy of Dance returns home Grand National Champions from the 2016 KAR National Finals in Myrtle Beach, SC. Finishing off their 8th competitive season, Elite Company Dancers ages 5 through 18 competed against talented dance companies from across the country in various group and individual categories over a week-long event.

Among many top overall awards the studio received, Elite Academy of Dance brought home the Top Elite Studio, Top National Studio and Top Choreographer awards. Special honors also went to Naomi Greenspan of Northborough, MA who was awarded the individual title of Senior Miss Dance America and Ryan Sheehan of Dudley, MA who was awarded the individual title of Mr. Dance America. Accompanying them with top honors, including individual titles and high point awards were company performances from all age groups, petite through senior levels. The crowning moment was the Elite Academy of Dance’s Senior Company performance of “Keep Me” being awarded Grand National Champions. This performance was incredibly powerful and beautifully danced, moving both the audience and judges to tears, bringing their season to a phenomenal close! Studio Owner and Director, Lauren Mangano-Callahan is extremely proud of all of her dancers sharing, “For me, as the Director of Elite, my goal is always raising the barre and setting the expectations high for myself, my staff and my dancers. Winning the hard earned honor of Grand National Champions means our focus, hard work and training as a unit is working towards these expectations. It feels incredible to see our hard work acknowledged and rewarded.”

Elite Academy of Dance is conveniently located on Route 20 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Their brand new, state of the art facility includes 4 custom studios and was designed to instruct dancers of all levels and ability, ages 2 through adult from all over Central Massachusetts.

Recreational dance, pre-professional and adult fitness classes resume September 10th with on-going registration.
