Culinary Creations of Celebrity Chefs Cooking Class

Experience the joy of cooking through this creative culinary class where participants in grades 5 through 8 will learn basic cooking terms and simple techniques, while creating tasty delights revolving around exciting and imaginative themes.  Classes will be held on Thursdays Jan. 27, Feb. 3, Feb. 10 and Feb. 17 from 3:15 to 5 p.m. at .

Come and join us as we whip up some celebrity favorites for you to share with your family, such as: Giada De Laurentiis' Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes, The Barefoot Contessa's Beatty’s Chocolate Cake, Alton Brown's Cocoa Brownies and Paula Deen's Monster Cookies.

The class size will be limited to 12 students.  Jean Brunell, MS will teach the class.  Ms. Brunell is a Family Consumer Science/Health teacher at Shrewsbury High School and the Summer Enrichment Director.  Her passion lies in nurturing young budding gourmets to enjoy the art of cooking, to make healthy food choices and to gain an appreciation of the pleasures of cooking.  Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis via e-mail.  All e-mails will be answered.  If you are interested in registering for this class, please e-mail Jean Brunell at jbrunell@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us.  The class fee is $60, which includes all materials.  Please make the check payable to the Shrewsbury Public Schools and mail to c/o Jean Brunell, 64 Holden Street, Shrewsbury, MA.
