Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

The Friends of the Shrewsbury Public Library Present The Second Annual Foreign Film Festival Sunday Afternoons in February February 6: "Children of Heaven" PG – Iranian (Farsi) – 1997 – Story of a young boy on a seemingly impossible quest to replace his sister's newly repaired pink shoes to make up for his single misdeed. Iran's first contender for an Oscar for Best Foreign Language film. Winner – Montreal Film festival, Newport film festival, Singapore film festival. Comedy 88 min. Opportunity will be provided for discussion after the film for those who wish to stay.  Popcorn will be provided. Please bring your own beverage.
