Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 4:00 PM at First Congregtional Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Rd, Shrewsbury, MA Choral &amp; Orchestral Concert presented Arts on the Green Concert Series   Malcolm Halliday and Audrey White, conductors   "Benedicite" by Andrew Carter The adult choirs of First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, Trinity Church in Northborough and Wesley United Methodist Church of Worcester combine with the Worcester Youth Orchestras, professional players and the FCC children's choirs to present the English composer Andrew Carter's Benedicite. This delightful work calls on all the world to "Bless the Lord!" from the natural world of wind, snow and ice, as well as the world of living creatures, from whales to weasels, warthogs and wallabies, all the way down to butterflies and moths! Several other works showcasing many of the participants will be also be featured, including a bassoon concerto by Antonio Vivaldi with bassoonist Michael Westberry. Suggested donation: $10 adult, $5 children and students
