Car Flips In Shrewsbury, Everyone Inside Unharmed

Shrewsbury police responded to a crash late Wednesday morning on Route 9.

SHREWSBURY, MA—Judging by the looks of the landing, it would seem surprising to many that no one was injured in this car accident late Wednesday morning in Shrewsbury.

Shrewsbury Police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident at 11:32 a.m. along with the Shrewsbury Fire Dept. and U-Mass EMS also responded.

There were three occupants in the SUV, which was traveling westbound on Route 9 when the operator lost control of the vehicle and went off the roadway at 433 Boston Turnpike (Route 9). The vehicle went airborne, hit a utility pole and became entangled in the wires. As a result the vehicle was left hanging from the wires, said police.

All three occupants removed themselves from the vehicle. The accident remains under investigation. Traffic was redirected in Rt. 9 for approximately one hour while utility crews freed the vehicle. One of the passengers was arrested on a Default Warrant out of Worcester Court for nonpayment of fines, which was not related to the accident.
