No Injuries After Shrewsbury Home Heavily Damaged In Fire

The late night fire seriously damaged a home along Shady Lane Avenue.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Firefighters from Shrewsbury, Northborough and Westborough responded to a fire late Monday night in a neighborhood off of Maple Avenue.

According to the Shrewsbury Fire Department, the fire broke out around 11 p.m. at 37 Shady Lane Ave. The fire started on the second floor of the home in a bedroom, and the department said the cause was accidental.

"All parties (including pets) escaped without injuries. The home sustained heavy fire damage on the second floor and smoke and water damage throughout the house," the department said in an update on Tuesday.

Shrewsbury firefighters responded to another fire early this week. On Sunday, a fire broke out in a home at 31 Tanger Road. The department said cooking oil was the likely cause.
