With Fuel Spilling, Truck Driver Pulled From I-290 Wreck
Shrewsbury firefighters had to act quickly to pull the man from the overturned truck Friday morning.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury firefighters rescued a trapped truck driver early Friday morning along I-290, helping the man escape a pool of diesel fuel.
The truck overturned around 7:45 a.m. near the Route 140 exit in the eastbound lanes. Firefighters arrived to find the driver pinned inside the vehicle and the truck's fuel tanks ruptured. The fuel was approaching the cab when they arrived.
"Firefighters deployed hose lines as a precaution, and vehicle extrication was performed. We were able to remove the victim from the vehicle and the fuel-soaked area in minutes," the department reported in a Facebook post.
