Holy Cross Men's Basketball Set To Face American On Senior Day
The Holy Cross men's basketball team returns home to face American in a 12:05 p.m. contest at the Hart Center on Sunday, Feb. 21.

The Holy Cross men’s basketball team returns home this weekend, when it plays host to American in a 12:05 p.m. contest at the Hart Center on Sunday, Feb. 21. Prior to tip-off, members of the Crusaders’ senior class will be honored in a special pregame ceremony. The contest between Holy Cross and American can be seen live on the internet through Crusader Vision and the Patriot League Network. In addition, the contest will air live on WEEI 1440 AM in Worcester.
Holy Cross enters the game with an overall record of 10-16 and a 5-10 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders have lost four of their last five games, and are coming off a 72-68 setback at Army on Wednesday night. Holy Cross, which currently stands in ninth place in the Patriot League, owns an 8-5 record at the Hart Center so far this season.
Junior guard Robert Champion leads the team by averaging 11.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Junior forward Malachi Alexander has also been playing well, with averages of 10.9 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest. Freshman forward Karl Charles has added 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, while senior guard Cullen Hamilton is chipping in with 9.7 points and 2.7 boards per contest.
American stands 8-18 overall this season with a 6-9 mark against Patriot League opponents. The Eagles are coming off a 60-59 overtime victory over Lafayette on Wednesday night, which snapped a three-game losing streak.
Senior guard Jesse Reed leads the team by averaging 12.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game, while hitting 45.4 percent of his field goal attempts (113 of 249). Freshman guard Delante Jones has added 11.5 points and 3.8 boards per contest, while junior center Paris Maragkos is averaging 7.7 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
After the contest with American, the Crusaders will hit the road once again, for a 7:30 p.m. game at Loyola (Md.) on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
