Today we came back from Easter ready to practice and prepare for Army on Wednesday. We had a meeting at noon, and despite the weather we still managed to put in the work we needed to. We warmed up with the protection drill to practice cradling, pivoting and stick protection. We also worked on 1 v. 1’s and our clear. We ended with some 7 v.7 to cap off a great practice.

One day until game day!!!! The rainy weather did not stop us from coming out and having a great practice before taking on Army. We played our favorite drill of 3 v. 3 continuous and got a great work out in to prepare ourselves to battle. We finished practice with our pre-game tradition of 30-yard shots leaving freshman Keely Connors(Bedford, N.Y.) the second time champion! We went through our game plan, scout and ended the day with some film (snacks included!)

GAME DAY!!!!! WOOO! Everyone woke up feeling excited and ready to take on Army. We got to the field a few hours before the game and did a shoot around. After we went through our game plan and got pumped up with our pre-game videos. Energy was high and we were ready to win. After a great fight we came out on top and accomplished so many goals. Due to our hard work in practice we were 16-for-17 on clears and kept our goals over 10 while holding Army to under 10 goals. Junior Maddie Ward (Norwell, Mass.) had a career high of five goals while sophomore Julia Maloney (Loudonville, N.Y.) kept Army to a low score. 2-1 in the Patriot League for Holy Cross!!!

Today we came to practice ready for preparation for Bucknell to keep battling forward in our season. We worked on cutting and unsettled situations to improve our fast breaks, slow breaks and ball movement. We ended practice with 7 v. 7. After practice we went to lift then packed to get ready to leave for Bucknell early the next morning.

One day!!!!! We left Holy Cross at 8:30 a.m. for Summit, N.J., where we practiced on our way to Bucknell. We went over our game plan and did a walk-through. We cleaned up some aspects of our plays and transition. We ended practice with our shooting for the 30-yard line. Freshman Keely Connors won again while sophomoreMeaghan Celmer (Summit, N.J.) finished closely behind with second place. After practice we stopped at the house of sophomore Stephanie Ford (Summit, N.J.) for a delicious lunch. We enjoyed some pasta, salad, chicken and yummy desserts! After lunch we loaded back on the bus and headed to Bucknell. Along the way we did some homework and enjoyed our first team karaoke contest! Members of the team got up and sang songs on the microphone of the bus! We are not sure if it was an April Fool’s joke or not but the coaches chose seniorMacKenzie Bozel (Hunt Valley, Md.) and junior Mary Patalita (Alexandria, Va.) to take home the trophy this week. This is a tradition we are looking forward to continuing on future bus rides!

GAME DAY!!!!!! We got up early to watch film and go over our scouting report. We had our game plan set and got pumped up on our way to the field courtesy of our new portable and loud team speaker! We had an efficient shoot around and warm up. We were ready to battle Bucknell! The team fought hard and improved on some aspects of our game like the draw. Unfortunately, we came up short 10-9. After the game we reflected on the 60 minutes and recognized what we need to work on this week in practice to prepare for Loyola!
