Important Update From Shrewsbury Water & Sewer Division

September 29, 2020, 4:00 p.m. unidirectional flushing update: flushing has ended for the day and will continue tomorrow at 8:00 a.m.

Contractor, Hydra Tech, was able to complete unidirectional flushing on these streets today: Prospect Street from Reservoir Street to Sam Allen Circle, Reservoir Street from Prospect Street to Keyes House Road, Kemble Drive, Keyes House Road from Reservoir Street to Carter Road and a small section of Carter Road, Dartmoor Drive from Cross Street to Hunter Circle, and Dartmoor Drive from Hunter Circle to Olde Colony Drive, and Olde Colony Drive from Saxon Lane to Keyes House Road.

On September 28 they completed: Boylston Street from Route 290 to Colonial Drive, Colonial Drive from Boylston Street to Notch Brook Road including the dead-end section of Boylston Street, Notch Brook Road, Colonial Drive from Notch Brook Road to Colonial Way, Barnard Street, Rawson Hill Drive, the end of Prospect Street to Reservoir Street, and Lupine Circle.

Hydra Tech will begin flushing at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, and will start on the first sequence in the list below and will progress in order. It is difficult to estimate how the work will progress each day so this may be optimistic but is provided to better inform everyone in the area that may be flushed. Flushing is expected to be finished around 4:00 p.m.

3. Saxon Lane from Olde Colony Drive to Bracken Road and Bracken Road

4. Travis Road

5. Keyes House Road from Saxon Lane to Olde Colony Drive

6. Keyes House Road from Olde Colony Drive to Carter Road

7. Carter Road

8. Saxon Lane from Olde Colony Drive to Bracken Road and Bracken Road

9. Travis Road

10. Keyes House Road

11. Bowdoin Street, Evergreen Street, and Glen Gery Road

12. Prospect Street from Cross Street to Cranbrook Road

13. Cranbrook Road

14. Heatherwood Drive

15. Prospect Street from Cranbrook Road to Birch Brush Road

16. Birch Brush Road

17. Deerfield Road

18. Forest Hill Drive

19. Tanglewood Drive

When the unidirectional flushing program was developed, the Town was divided into 12 zones to make managing the program easier. Hydra Tech is scheduled to begin in Zone 6 and will schedule necessary water valve replacements in Zone 7 over the next few weeks. Please see the attached map for more information about the location of the Zones.

Due to the flushing, residents in the identified area as well as those in the vicinity of the project may experience brief periods of reduced pressure or discolored water.

If you experience discolored water once the flushing is complete, please run the cold water in downstairs bathtub until it clears.
