Longtime Shrewsbury Resident Dies

Richard J. Moran, of the Baldwinville section of Templeton, formerly of Haverhill and Plaistow, NH, died Friday, Oct. 21 unexpectedly at home. He was 62. "Dick" or "Rich" as he was lovingly known, was born on Jan. 6, 1949 in Haverhill a son of the late Paul and Mildred (Mullen) Moran. He was a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, NH and later took courses at Northern Essex Community College. His family moved to Plaistow in 1960 from Haverhill and he had lived in the Gardner and Baldwinville area since 2003. He worked as a painting contractor for local construction companies for most of his life.
Ralph J. Mancini, of Shrewsbury, died unexpectedly at home on Thursday, Oct. 13. He was 72. Ralph was born on Aug. 3, 1939 in Worcester a son of Italian immigrants Giuseppe and Marion R. (Paciello) Mancini. He was a graduate of the former Sacred Heart Academy. He married Nancy L. Sherry on June 29, 1963 in North American Martyrs Church in Auburn and has been resident of Shrewsbury for over 42 years. Ralph taught English in the Framingham Public Schools in its middle schools for over 35 years before retiring in 2002.
