Men From Millbury, North Oxford Charged After Police Find Drugs

The pair were stopped in Shrewsbury along Route 9 early Monday morning.

SHREWSBURY, MA — Shrewsbury police arrested and charged two men early Monday morning after finding drugs and weapons during a traffic stop.

Shrewsbury police pulled over a driver near 1:30 a.m. Monday just east of Oak Street due to an expired registration sticker. Police reported seeing a large knife and drug paraphernalia in plain view in the pickup truck.

While speaking to a driver outside the truck, police said a bag of heroin fell out the bottom of his pant leg and onto the street. The passenger was carrying suspected cocaine and a pipe, police said.

During a vehicle search, police found about 32 grams of suspected cocaine and a scale.

The driver, a 57-year-old from North Oxford, was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine plus motor vehicle charges. The 54-year-old passenger from Millbury was charged with possession of cocaine, police said.
