Missing Pair Seen In Shrewsbury Found In CT: Police

A 77-year-old man and 94-year-old woman were stopped in Shrewsbury to ask for directions and were later seen in Worcester.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A missing Webster pair who were the subject of a silver alert and later seen in Shrewsbury and Worcester on Wednesday have been found safe, according to local police.

Janusz Melewski, 77, and Stanislawa Melewski, 94, were reported missing Tuesday morning, and stopped at the Shrewsbury police station Tuesday night to ask for directions. They were later seen in Sturbridge, West Boylston and Worcester.

A police officer in Clinton, Conn., found them sleeping in their car at a closed gas station, according to Webster police.

The Melewskis were taken to a hospital in Middletown, Conn., as a precaution, but were expected to return to Massachusetts on Thursday, according to police.
