NCAA Men's Ice Hockey Northeast Regional Field Set; Tickets On Sale

The NCAA Men's Frozen Four® will be held March 25-26 at the DCU Center in Worcester!

WORCESTER, Mass. – Four teams, three games, two days... the road to the NCAA Men's Frozen Four® will begin at the DCU Center in Worcester! On March 25, No. 1 seed and defending national champion Providence will take on No. 4 seed Minnesota Duluth at 4:30 p.m., while No. 2 seed Boston College will play No. 3 seed Harvard at 8:00 p.m. The Eagles and Crimson have played each other 123 times but never in the NCAA Tournament.

The championship game will be on March 26 at 9:00 p.m. The winner will advance to the Frozen Four® in Tampa on April 7 and 9. All four schools have won the national championship with eight titles between them.

No. 1 seed Providence (27-6-4, 16-3-3 Hockey East) was a Hockey East co-regular season champion. This is the first time the Friars have won the regular season championship. The 16 Hockey East wins are the most in the season for the program. Last year, Providence won its first ever national championship.

No. 2 seed Boston College (26-7-5, 15-2-5 Hockey) tied for first place in Hockey East with Providence. The Eagles have won five national championships (1949, 2001, 2008, 2010 & 2012.). The last four national championhips for Boston College have began at the DCU Center.

No. 3 seed Harvard (19-10-4, 12-6-4 ECAC) placed third in the ECAC standings. The Crimson advanced to the ECAC championship game. Harvard won the national championship in 1989.

No. 4 seed Minnesota Duluth (18-15-5, 11-10-3 NCHC) placed fourth in the NCHC regular season standings. The Bulldogs advanced to NCHC championship game. Minnesota Duluth won the national championship in 2011.

Holy Cross previously held this event at the DCU Center in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. This will be the 14th overall time that the regional has been at the DCU Center. Ten of the 13 teams to win the regional in Worcester have gone on to play in the national championship game, with six of those teams winning the national title. A total of 45 NCAA regional hockey games have been played at the DCU Center, which is currently the most in the 68-year history of the Division I men's ice hockey tournament.
